hi! my name is claire. it's lovely to meet you.

I am an Asian American student, writer, and runner. I am a Fiction Reader for ANMLY Magazine and a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA) for South Korea, my mother’s homeland. I have previously worked in public health, law, and international relations research. I have loved to read for as long as I can remember.

clairefy is my space to share reflections on literature and life as I navigate change in my young adulthood. Here, you will find reviews of books that have affected me. You will also find my ruminations on experiences that have shaped me. My Korea Diaries series from last summer, in which I casually shared my thoughts on working in my mother’s homeland alone for the first time at age 21, falls into this category.

I have had this blog since I was in middle school. I first launched clairefy as Bookworm Reviews when I was twelve to record my thoughts on my favorite young adult novels. As I have grown, my blog has grown with me. In high school, I changed my blog’s name twice: first, from Bookworm Reviews to Cover to Cover, and then, at last, from Cover to Cover to clairefy.

I am committed to uplifting works by writers and artists of underrepresented backgrounds, particularly those of Asian American descent. Books by Asian American writers brought me closer to understanding, accepting, and taking pride in my heritage; I want to help others find belonging too. I have previously collaborated with publishers such as Penguin Random House, Macmillan, and HarperCollins to review ARCs (advance reader copies) of Asian American stories and interview Asian American authors. Doing this work is one of my favorite parts of book blogging. If you are an Asian American writer, artist, agent, or creative seeking book reviews, interviews, or other publicity, please reach out to me through my contact form.
